    The Eddie Pena Holiday Classic and the Robert Dailey Holiday Classic tournaments were reformatted this year to a match-up between the Pirates and their sister school the 2A Laguna-Acoma Hawks where the c-team, the JV team and varsity team played each other on Saturday, December the 7th at the Port of the Pirates. In the varsity boys match up the Pirates defeated the 2A Hawks by a score of 86-47. GHS Landon Chavez said of the game, “It’s always special to play Laguna-Acoma.”

    The stands were full of fans from both teams.

    The lady Pirates basketball team earned their first win of the season with a slim 44-42 win over the lady Hawks. The lady Pirates improve to 13 and will play Zuni High School (0-1) on December 10th at home.

    The L-A Hawks boys basketball team is currently 0-4 and will play Estancia (0-3) at home on December 12th.

    The lady Hawks are 2-2 with their next game against Estancia (2-1) is on December 12th on the road.
