Melonas made his 1,000 points at the district game at Belen last Saturday. Melonas has been a consistent high scorer for 4 years with the Pirates and hitting the 1,000 career points is a rare achievement in high school basketball.     Senior Boudy Melonas recounts his feelings getting to a milestone of 1,000 career points. 'First and foremost I'd like to thank God – It feels unreal – I am happy my dad got to see me achieve such a thing,' said Melonas. 'But, I just want to win games--but it does give me confidence that I've been doing something right--I'm glad we won that game [Belen].'

    Melonas remembered his first two points as a freshman against Bloomfield, 'I was a defender and placed on their best player and I had a steal for a fast break and scored a layup.'
