Joyce Elaine (Longwell) Gleadle of Grants New Mexico passed away peacefully in her home February 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born in Fairfield, Iowa on August 31, 1942. The family first moved to Farmington NM and then to Gallup NM, after graduating high school, where she met and married her husband of 52 years on January 21st, 1961. They eventually settled in Grants NM where they made their home and raised three children.
She was a long-standing member of First Baptist Church. She loved quilting, crocheting, and gardening in her free time. It also brought her great joy to watch the hummingbirds in her backyard.
Survivors include her three children: Robin Gamache (Stephen Gamache), Brian Gleadle, and Tammy Gleadle; sister: Patricia Wharton; and brother: Melvin Longwell; grandchildren: Tyra Jaso (Brad Mathis), Chad Gamache, Shane Richards, (MacKenzie Vaughn), Shelli Richards; and ten greatgrandchildren children.
Joyce is proceeded in death by both her parents: Mildred (Kelley) Nickel and Melvin Longwell; her husband: Barry Gleadle; two children (Katherine and Sean) and one granddaughter (Robynne Gamache).
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
