GRANTS, N.M. – The Grants-Milan Rotary Club is now accepting applications for a week-long leadership summer camp, which will send two high school juniors to the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) Camp.
The Boys Camp runs from July 13 to 19, 2025, and the Girls Camp from July 19 to 25, 2025.
RYLA serves as the outreach arm of Rotary’s involvement in our community. The Boys RYLA Camp and Girls RYLA Camp focus on empowering our youth before their senior year of high school by providing exposure to experts in various fields during a week-long leadership camp at the stunning Manzano Mountain Retreat. These experts dedicate their time and knowledge to support campers’ growth and development at this crucial stage of maturity. Previous speakers have included astronauts, judges, lawyers, physicians, and business owners. Campers will share a cabin with three peers and compete in team challenges against other cabins. One of the most anticipated activities is the high ropes course.
Applications to attend RYLA Camp are submitted online. Applicants should list various academic awards, recognitions, activities, and clubs with which they are involved. A committee of Grants-Milan Rotary Club members will review the applications and select two high school juniors to represent our area and become future leaders in the community.
RYLA Camp applications are due by April 1, 2025. The application can be found online at https://www.IsMyRotaryClub. org/App/?ID=30 1
