CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. — With less than three weeks to go, the City of Grants is gearing up for a full day of red, white, and blue festivities this Fourth of July—and the Chamber of Commerce is calling on local residents, businesses, and organizations to join in the fun.

The annual Fourth of July Parade will begin at 9 a.m. at Fire and Ice Park, travel down Wayne and Santa Fe Avenue, and conclude at the Grants Public Library. This year’s theme—“Celebrating Our Mining Legacy”—pays tribute to the region’s rich history and contributions to the state’s economy.

Local miner and community volunteer Jack Farley has been named Parade Grand Marshal and will ride in a convertible provided by Corley Ford, the chamber board expressed their thanks to the Corley family for their support to the community.

Parade float applications can be picked up at RE/MAX Elegance located at 1020 W Santa Fe Ave or Tom Fitzsimmons State Farm at 800 1st St, Grants, NM 87020; or the Cibola Citizen at 200 W. Santa Fe Ave.

After the parade, community members will be encouraged to hang out at the park for live music, delicious food from area vendors, and fun crafts from local artists.

The celebration doesn’t end with the parade. At 2 p.m., the Grants Rodeo Grounds will host an Open Rodeo as part of Wild West Days, followed by a special live performance by country artist Chevel Shepard, the Voice Season 15 winner.

Finally, at 8:45 p.m., the City of Grants will launch its annual fireworks show from the hill behind Grants High School, offering a vibrant and patriotic close to the holiday.
