Baseball Putting in Work over Summer

The Grants High School Pirate Baseball Team has been busy this summer conditioning and preparing for next season.

“We have been mostly focusing on the weight room and the strength part of our offseason,” said GHS head coach Mike Furbee.

“We are starting to amp up our throwing and field work as we prepare for our Fall season.”

Furbee expects 18 games, including two tournaments.

Furbee acknowledges he has his work cut out for him with new personnel, “We will be trying to replace seven seniors so we will be fairly young.”

Furbee wants his young players to see “tough competition” and is focusing his schedule with 5A schools.
