Albert Herman 'Goose' DuBois, born November 9, 1951, passed away on October 28, 2022 at the age of 70.
He was well loved and enjoyed family, watching westerns, various sporting events, oil painting, hunting, fishing and camping. He played, basketball, baseball and track throughout his school years. After graduating high school, he played both softball and basketball. He really enjoyed coaching girl's and boys’ basketball teams for numerous years. 'Goose' as he was well known, graduated from Grants High School, Ft. Lewis College, worked at Anaconda and retired from Continental Divide Electric Cooperative.
Throughout his life, Herman participated in numerous milestones within family such as birthdays, weddings anniversaries, sporting events and most especially graduations as he encouraged all to further their education with love, patience and guidance.
Earlier in life he enjoyed horseback riding and had several companion dogs. He was a member of the San Rafael Catholic Church all his life and a member of the Morada de San Rafael as a Penitente.
Herman is survived by his wife: Sally; sons: Antonio (Ursula); Ermeñio; grandsons: Nathaniel Garza; James and Dio; granddaughter: Antoinette DuBois; Brothers: Peter (Lori); Allen; Sisters: Angela D. Salazar; MaryAnn (Armando) Gonzales; Margaret DuBois; Beatrice DuBois; Ramona DuBois, Priscilla DuBois and Yolanda DuBois; Sister-in-law: Perfelia (Joseph) DuBois; Sister-in-laws Lydia Chavez; Ruby (Billy) Peña; Brother-in-Law: Demetrio Chavez, Jr. (Bernice); Aunts: Helen V. Torrez Gabaldon and Prescilla Salazar, numerous Godchildren, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews and Friends.
He was preceded in death by Parents: Alberto & Celia DuBois; Maternal Grandparents: Pedro and Margarita Torres; Paternal Grandparents: Joaquin and Beatrice DuBois; Father and Mother in-Law: Demetrio and Eva Chavez; Brother: Joseph DuBois, niece: Jackie; nephews: Armando Nicholas Gonzales and Matthew Lujan along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Viewing from 3:00 - 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022; Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. by Hermanos from Morada de San Rafael at San Rafael Catholic Church; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., San Rafael Catholic Church with interment at the Morada de San Rafael. Reception to be held after rosary and after interment at the San Rafael Church Community Center.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Peter DuBois, Allen DuBois, Armando Gonzales, Demetrio Chavez, Jr., Vot Gonzales, Bill Peña, Brigette Fernandez, Sherrie Morales, Hannah and Haylee Jaure, Lori Lewis and Audrey Gonzales.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Gonzales, Rome Parish Rael, J. Christopher Boydston, Jason Vigil, Dane DuBois, Jacob Mirabal, Aaron DuBois.
