Carlos Gomez Gonzalez Sr.
Carlos Gomez Gonzalez Sr. passed away on January 28, 2023 at the age of 69 in Grants, New Mexico after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Doris Gonzalez. They shared 44 years together.
Born in Torreón Coahuila, México on November 21, 1953 to Antonia Gonzalez. Carlos Sr immigrated to the United States as a teenager and worked for Sanitary Services as a sanitation engineer. He then went on to build a successful woodworking business from the ground up. He owned and operated Gonzales Woodworks for 30+ years serving the Grants community, New Mexico, and surrounding states.
He enjoyed track and field, swimming, spending time with his family, playing pool, and teaching his boys the art of woodworking. He will always be remembered by everyone for his constant hard work and dedication to everything he did, his selflessness, his generosity, and his humor will live on in his family forever.
He is survived by his wife: Doris Gonzalez; his five sisters: María Catalina González, Ricarda Moreno, Soledad Castañón, Florentina Adame, and San Juana Adame; his two sons: Carlos Gonzalez Jr. and David Gonzalez; his three daughters: Liliana Gonzalez de Romero, Mirna Gonzalez, and Rocio Gonzalez; his daughters-in-law: Storm Gonzalez and Alyssa Gonzalez; his son-in-law: Oscar de Romero; his grandchildren: Joanna Gonzalez, Eduardo Gonzalez, Carmen Gonzalez, Santana Gonzalez, Aiden Gonzalez, Enedelia Gonzalez, Anaya Gonzalez, Joesph Salias, Analiese Gonzalez, Sadie Gonzalez, Omar Gonzalez, Jan Gonzalez, Edgar Romero González, Oscar Romero González Jr., and José Romero González; his great-grandchildren: Alia Berrun-Gonzalez, and Marisol Gonzalez.
