Clarence Marez (November 18, 1969 – August 31, 2022) A Rosary and funeral mass were held for Clarence Marez on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the San Rafael Catholic Church. Clarence was buried with the Fireman’s Last Call at the San Rafael Community Cemetery.
Clarence was born on November 18, 1969 in Grants, New Mexico to Andres and Juanita (Gallegos) Marez. He earned his wings on August 31, 2022. Clarence dedicated most of his life to serving others. Clarence started his public service in law enforcement, then later in life to the fire service where he was quickly promoted to Chief for the San Rafael Volunteer Fire Department. Aside from public service, he loved to help anyone and everyone. There was no such thing as a quick errand to task, he always found someone to talk to and catch up with.
He loved woodworking, ironworking, camping, barbecuing and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. God is a great gardener; he plants his seeds and on August 31 God pulled a beautiful flower. Fly high, we will miss you, but this is not goodbye. We love you so much! May God make you feel welcomed and comfortable settling into your new home.
Clarence is survived by his wife: Grace Marez; Son: Dyvin (Ashley) Marez; and Daughter: Brandi (Jorge) Salcido; Mother: Juanita (Gallegos) Marez; Sisters: Jane Marez-LaBelle, and Beverely (Victor) Diaz; Grandchildren: Rio Marez, Desaray, Laela and Alberto Salcido and Chewy Marez; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father: Andres Marez; and son: Raymond Marez. Pall bearers were Victor Diaz, Lawrence Chavez, Wilfred Blea, Carlos Vallejos, Joshua Salazar and Albert Gallegos.
Honorary Pall bearers were all his grandchildren.
