Dora C. Marez, 89 years of age, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022.
Dora was born on June 7, 1933 in Cebolla Springs, New Mexico to the late Isidro and Isabel Chavez. Dora was the youngest of eight children. Dora was married to Frank G. Marez Jr. for 47 years. Dora and Frank went on to have six children.
Dora is preceded in death by her parents: Isidro and Isabel Chavez; husband: Frank G. Marez Jr.; two sons: David Stephen Marez, George Eluid Marez; Six of her siblings: Kate Savedra, Daisy Ortiz, Priscillano Chavez, Fred Chavez, Leopoldo Chavez and Fernandez Chavez and one son-in-law Fabian Montano.
Dora is survived by her sister: Mellie Rael; her sister-in-law: Margaret Savedra; her children: Mary Montano, Dolores Altenburg (Eric), Bernadine Baca (John), Ross Marez; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; four great greatgrandchildren and many extended family members.
A rosary will be held on November 18, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 500 East High Street in Grants, NM. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be George Marez Jr., Jimmy Marez, Timo Marez, Fabian Montano III, Isaiah Griego, Joseph Gonzales.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and godchildren.
