Helen Ramirez, was born July 21, 1965 in Paris, France. At 57 years old passed away in her home surrounded by her family in Milan, New Mexico on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. She is survived by her beloved only daughter Esperanzah Ramirez, Her Mother Carmen Carbajal, and brothers and sisters, Betty Ramirez, Francisco Ramirez III and Alicia Ramirez, Emma Jimenez and Jose Jimenez, Victor Medina and Scott Bynum, Willie Nañez and Samantha Nañez. Her nieces and nephews, Sabrina Marquez, Miguel Hernandez, Anthony Nañez and Audriana Judd, Francisco Ramirez IV and Brenda Ramirez, John Martinez and Kailey Martinez, Ashley Watters and James Watters, Angelica Hassell and Cody Hassell, Carlee Medina, Estrella Wilson and James Wilson, Angelo Espinoza and Isabell Espinosa and baby to come, and Maritza Jimenez, Catrina Medina and baby to come, Carlos Medina Jr. Her surviving great nieces and nephews are, Roman and Sucre, Lilly and Christina, John Anthony, Joseph, Andres, Levi, and Lyla, Santiago, Izaya, Ambrosia, Gracie and Sophia, Jaden, Lyric, Messiah and Harmony and Elijah Watters. She is preceded in death by her Father Francisco Ramirez II, and her Brother Carlos Medina. Helen loved you, thought of you, and prayed for you often.
Helen Graduated from Grants High School, Class of 1985. She was humble and dedicated to her work and truly enjoyed working. She held positions at Cibola General Hospital, Weather King, Bealls Grants location, Wells Fargo, Bealls Gallup location, and Burlington Coat Factory. Her coworkers always became fast and dear friends. She was highly respected and trusted in her work and those relationships she created in the workforce were important to her. She also sold jewelry for her own Helen’s House Bomb Parties where she hosted fun and lively live social media events for her customers featuring homemade hats to match her theme. Helen became an advocate for initiatives and foundations supporting causes she was touched by most notably The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Family Adoption, and Suicide Prevention.
Helen had the giving heart of a servant, she always kept her faith and was an active parish member at St. Vivian’s Catholic Church in Milan, New Mexico. She was devoted to her family and friends and prioritized gatherings and togetherness. Her spirit was bright and her loyalty was strong. She was very festive and was a creative person. She was a huge fan of The Green Bay Packers, had the best halloween costumes, and enjoyed learning different crafts such as painting, crocheting, and crafting decor. Her favorite hobbies were fishing, camping, and being outdoors. She loved playing games like Monopoly, reading romance novels, watching movies and was a foodie. Helen held a special place in her heart for animals. She owned a horse, a rabbit, cats, a ferret, a turtle, a duck, birds and many dogs throughout her lifetime. She chose the name Helen Friend of All Creatures for herself when knighted during a bucket list trip to Medieval Times.
Helen battled Ovarian cancer for over 34 years, She faced her illness with grace and strength and felt as though she had WON her fight because she handled her affairs on her own terms. Her sacrifices while fighting through treatments was a dedication to be here as long as possible for the ones she loved. She was a selfless beautiful soul and will be forever cherished and lovingly remembered.
To honor one of her last wishes, we invite everyone to join our family as we celebrate Helen’s life and lay her to much deserved rest.
