Jerry Mascarenaz

Jerry Mascarenaz, 70, March 25, 1955- June 7, 2025, of Milan New Mexico was born in Leadville, Colorado on March 25th 1955 and passed on June 7, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Jerry graduated from Grants High School in 1974 and later graduated with his associate’s degree in applied science and Heavy Equipment Mechanics from NMSU in 1985. In 2018 he retired from the New Mexico State highway department after many years of hard work and dedication. He had a love for all sports, but football was his favorite. He loved the Miami Dolphins and was a devoted fan. Jerry enjoyed his daily walks, loved his family, never missed the chance to tell a goofy joke, loved the American Flag, and most importantly he held his faith in high regard. He will be greatly missed.

Jerry is preceeded in death by his parents: Cresencio and Pauline Mascarenaz; and his brother in-law: Charles Griego.

He is survived by his children: Dominic (Bonnie) Vigil, Michelle (Gabe) Gallegos and Adrian (Claire) Mascarenaz; His grandchildren: Nicole (Cody) Chavez, Alexa (Kolby) Bradshaw, Makayla Gallegos and Theodore Mascarenaz; His great-grandchildren: Iroh and Jax Chavez; His Companion: Geri Chino; his Brother: Paul Mascarenaz; Sisters: Gloria Gallegos, Rose (Edward) Sanchez and Pauline Griego; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at St. Vivians Catholic Church in Milan on Thursday July 3, 2025. Rosary will begin at 10 am with Mass to follow.

In honor of Jerry and his love for football and patriotism, wear your favorite Team shirt, jersey, or any items with the American flag as we lay him to rest.
