Joseph Anthony Salazar Passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 11, 2023 after a lengthy illness. A viewing and rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 2 to 4 pm at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108. A celebration of life will be held at a later day. Anthony was born on October 4, 1954 in San Mateo, NM. He was a devoted and loving husband to Donna Castillo Salazar and a loving father to four children: David Johnathan Castillo, Marie Salazar Sanchez, Joseph A Salazar and Stacey Armenta. Anthony was a proud grandfather of six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents: Delfinia and Reynaldo Mirabal; and birth-father: David Salazar; Brothers: Harold and Willie Salazar; and Sister: Tita Valdez.
He is survived by his sisters: Prescilla Salazar (Art) of Castlerock Co., Debi Gallegos (Louie) of Albuquerque, Gale Jaramillo (Gary) of Grants NM, and Clara Lindquist (JD) of Grants, NM; and Brother in-law Fred Valdez of San Rafael NM; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Anthony was very proud of his Military career; he served in the US Army for 14 years. He also had a long career in corrections and retired in 2016 and got to enjoy his favorite hobby of fishing and just driving around the mountains to sightsee.
