Juan Jose Torrez
Juan Jose Torrez, born on August 9, 1960, in a world that would come to know him for his kindness and unwavering spirit, passed away peacefully in San Rafael on March 6, 2025. He was a cherished husband, father, stepfather, and brother, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Juan is survived by his beloved wife, Jessica Torrez, who stood by his side through life's many ups and downs. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home for their daughters: Desirae (Dale) Knighton, Marissa Torrez, and Unique Torrez, who carry forward his spirit and values. Juan also embraced his role as a stepfather to Richard Jaramillo, Chris Quintana, Dante Romero, and Jazmyn Romero, forming bonds that transcended traditional family ties.
In addition to his immediate family, Juan is survived by his brothers, James (Josephine) Torrez and Jackie Torrez, who shared laughter and life's journey with him. His sisters, Pauline (Anthony) Chavez, Margart (Orlando) Chavez, Veronica (Raymond) Montano, Nadine (Rodger), Catherine (Melchor) Erives, and Alexandria (Edward) Veloz, will forever hold close the memories of a brother who loved them dearly. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Tamora Bartanek, and brother-in-law, Antonio Cardenas, who will miss his presence in their lives and grandsons: Adynn and Toryan Knighton.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Andres A. Torrez and Magdalena Montoya Torrez, who instilled in him the values of family and compassion. He is also reunited in spirit with his brothers Joel, Jesse, and Alejandro Torrez, and his sister Rebecca Cardenas, along with his niece, Yvonne Chavez, and nephew, Rudy Gallagos, who remember him fondly.
His warmth and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Juan's legacy will endure through his family, whose lives he touched profoundly. He leaves behind not just memories, but also a deep-rooted sense of love that will continue to bloom among those he cherished most.
