Nancy Elizabeth Marsing was born in Nebraska on May 23, 1938. She passed away the evening of August 5, 2024 in her home in Moab, Utah. She was 86 years old. A memorial and graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, date and time is to be determined.
Nancy loved loving people, and in recent years her healthcare team loved her for her sassiness and humor. From her husband Lamar courting her by plane, to rolling a stock racing car while pregnant, Nancy certainly led an adventure-filled life. She was raised by her adopted family on their farm in Monticello, Utah, where she met and married her first husband, Lamar Marsing. They had six children together, one girl and five boys that they raised in Milan, New Mexico. Nancy always joked that all of her gray hairs were a result of her children’s antics, and were they ever a tough bunch to raise!
After Lamar passed away in 1984, Nancy married again to Bud Klutey, and for a time lived in Indiana, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, before Bud also passed away and she came to live again in Moab. She loved Moab and said that it was always home for her. Nancy had many friends in Moab and became active with the Red Hatters, and later the Grand Center (for seniors).
She traveled to visit and was visited often by her children, grandchildren, and eventually great-grandchildren; her home was always open to family and friends and whomever else came along with them. She opened her home to many pets over the years as well, always spoiling them silly. Her last pet, a cat named Meow-sir, was with her as she went on to join many loved ones waiting for her on the other side.
Nancy is preceded in death by her adopted sister: husbands Lamar and Bud; sons: Kenny and Larry; and other extended family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Lonnie, David, Danny, and Terri; their children; and numerous great-grandchildren, along with best friend Brenda Christensen.
Services for Nancy will be September 21 at 1 p.m. in the Sunset Memorial Garden Center, Moab, Utah.
