Ramon 'Raymond' Damian Sandoval, 79, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away at home surrounded by his family on August 23, 2024.

Raymond was born on March 26, 1945, in San Jose, NM, to Donaciano and Rosaura Sandoval. He was a proud veteran, having served in the Army during the Vietnam War, including time stationed in Germany. After his military service, Raymond worked in the uranium mines in Grants, NM, and later retired from the US Postal Service as the Assistant Postmaster. He continued his career with Nevada Title Co. in Las Vegas, NV, where he worked for 12 more years.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Pauline Sandoval; his children, Mark Sandoval (Melissa), Rayna Peterson (Douglas), Ray Sandoval, and Monica Conteduca (John Rocco); and his cherished grandchildren, Marcus Sandoval, CJ Sandoval, Joseph Peterson, Matthew Sandoval, Dominick Conteduca, Emeilia Conteduca, and Lauren Peterson. He is also survived by his siblings Petra Ribera (Eddie) of Barstow, CA, Pete Garcia (Grace) of Pueblo, CO, and Tony Sandoval (Wanda) of San Rafael, NM, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Donaciano and Rosaura Sandoval; and his siblings Lena Gollette, Tom Sandoval, Margaret Ulibarri, Virginio (Wilkie) Sandoval, Juan (Birdie) Sandoval, and Tommy Sandoval.

In his later years, Raymond was a dedicated usher and member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He took great joy in woodworking, creating crosses and other memorable items that he loved sharing with his family and friends.

A rosary will be recited on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the Peterson residence (8130 W. Red Coach, Las Vegas, NV). A funeral Mass will be celebrated on October 5, 2024, by Rev. Steve Hoffer at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 1:00 PM, followed by a reception at the Peterson residence.

Raymond will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, and his unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
