The best way to build a community is to put our best efforts forward to build for the future. The City of Grants has been working very hard to do just that with the completion of the new enclosed Rodeo Arena on the west side of the city. This magnificent arena will bring thousands of people from all over to enjoy the excitement of rodeos and concerts! The forward thinking of our city leaders to encourage new business and opportunity for everyone is working! We have a new buffet opening this week and another restaurant in the process of reopening.

Ten years ago I said that Grants would become the cleanest city in New Mexico! Since that time, we have never stopped trying to make that a reality. Recreation has become the low hanging fruit of economic development with the continued success of the Quad, rodeos, hiking, biking and other fun activities! Our area is filled with beautiful sights of interests that draw thousands to our area every year, fill our hotels, and bringing business to our restaurants and stores. Clean communities are safer communities, which draws more guests to see what Grants has to offer.

With the goal of keeping our city clean, we are having our City of Grants Cleanup Day this Saturday, April 12th! We will be doing something different this year. Instead of having roll-offs placed in different parts of the city, we are centralizing them at the Grants Police Department. We will have a large roll-off for the tires! Denise Hanson, Marketing Director for the City of Grants, has raised an army of volunteers to meet at 8:00am on Saturday morning at the empty lot next to Allsup's on Roosevelt and Elm to clean up trash! If you can't join us, pick a spot, even your own yard and clean it! Every effort to cut weeds, clean up trash, junk and rubbish, will improve our community and keep Grants clean and safe! Let's take Pride in Grants and make this Spring Cleanup the most successful one so far!
