The new norm: food for thought!

The daily news of the COVID-19 world pandemic has lately been smothered by political ads like two ladles of gravy over one scoop of mashed potatoes. At times it is more than one wants to stomach. They are heaping it on like one fills a plate at an “allyou-can-eat-buffet”

“Lettuce” .... lettuce think about this. There are choices for one to “hash” over. “Carrot” all for this or that? At times it’s more than one can swallow or perhaps digest before another helping from the oppo-site side comes your way. Think of cafeteria food and remember at times that one may want a change but knows there are days the serving may be stomached more-so than others ....but one knows they will live after the day’s plate is empty. Then there are leftovers from the past that have resurfaced that one may not have liked then and may fear the same taste, although there may be an added side that enhances the appearance of what’s being presented.

Heartburn... perhaps? Possibly they are starting to smell. The pot’s been stirred; it’s been simmering for a while, and one may think the newly added spice may change the taste and make it easier for one to swallow. Heartburn again...perhaps?

One may lose their appetite at what they think are half-baked ideas and choose to avoid the taste, but some may think the added spice may make it easier to stomach, although they may have no more appetite for it again tomorrow. Some have no more room or taste for a second helping, and fear the onset of an upset tummy after the selection is swallowed.

Do you remember the inspection stamp that U.S. Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.) placed on choice foods?

Now it’s our turn: U.S.D.A. ChoiceU.S. choice—yes, u-s-choice-Us choice. That means us. The beauty of this great nation, and that of being an American, is we have a choice and a voice to change what’s to be served or who will serve it. Cafeteria line... buffet line... voting line...

VOTE!

Perhaps you’ll get your “Happy Meal” out of it! Now that’s really....

Food for thought.
