The new norm: …thanks!

This year (2020) we will spend Thanksgiving home alone here in Grants. The CDC recommends this and I agree. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken off again and I don’t care to partake in the virus. We talked to our children and they agree that if this effort slows the spread of the virus it is well worth the one day of family holiday social distancing. Hopefully we can celebrate Christmas together though.

The kids all live in Albuquerque and we talk to each other daily. Evelyn also has a tablet where she and the little girls can visit and see each other during their conversation.

We are thankful for all we have and our health. We also appreciate friends who contribute to our well-being by wearing masks and social distancing. Thank – you all.

It’s been a tough year so far and it is not expected to return to normal until maybe next summer. I appreciate the patience people have shown and their respect to help each other during these trying times. Thanks for the good humor that’s often difficult to display as we practice social distancing. Thanks for the friendly waves to each other in passing during drives through town. The utilities are all on; we are comfortable when we stay at home, thanks. Store shelves are stocked, lines at gas stations are short, thanks. We live in the greatest country in the world, things will settle down. Happy Thanksgiving and for all you do for each of us …

Thanks!
