Athlete of the Week

This week's Athlete of the Week is the entire Lady Hawks Basketball Team of Laguna-Acoma High School for defeating Menaul High School in the first round of the state tournament (50-42) and making it to the quarter finals where they will face district rival, the Lady Hawks of Dulce for the fifth time this season in the quarter final game of the state basketball tournament on Tuesday, March 7 at the Rio Rancho Events Center These students athletes trained and played hard all season to advance this far. They played at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7. This was after the Cibola Citizen’s press time, look to next week’s edition for details on the riveting game. Cibola County supports our student athletes, good luck and no matter what happens, the Lady Hawks have made Cibola proud!
