Athlete of the Week

This week's Athlete of the Week is Estevan Barela who knocked in the winning run against Belen High School last week in a tough district baseball game where the Pirates won 3-2. Barela also pitched a pheromonal game against Belen where he had 13 strikeouts.

Junior running sensation Laila Martinez had a phenomenal weekend at one of the largest track meets in the state, the Rio Rancho Invitational, where Martinez placed first in the 1800 meters and 1200 meters.
