GRANTS, N.M. - The Grants High School Volleyball Team is 5-6 after two recent losses: On September 9 they lost to Bernalillo 3-2 (12-25, 2522, 17-25, 25-18, 18-20), and then lost 3-0 (2525,25-20,25-150). Next up for the Pirates will be Del Norte (1-5) on the road on September 17.
The GHS boys’ soccer team lost 9-0 Bloomfield on September 9 and then defeated Pojoaque Valley 2-0 on September 11. They will play the 3-5 Kirtland Broncos on September 16. Currently they are 2-7. “We are still learning to play a full 80 minutes,” said GHS head boys soccer coach John Malcolm. “The guys are playing well just in time for districts–and Ethyn Marquez got on the score sheet for the first time.”
The Lady Pirates soccer team lost their most recent game 3-2 to Monte del Sol and will travel to play Kirtland (4-3) on Tuesday, September 16.
The Laguna-Acoma football team is currently 2-2 after a 50-12 loss to Hatch Valley on September 12. They will play Navajo Prep (3-1) on September 26 in a home game.
The Lady Laguna Acoma Hawks Volleyball Team is 3-1 after a 2-1 defeat of Bosque Prep. They will host East Mountain on September 16.
