GRANTS, N.M. - Are we ready to start swinging? Well, the Grants High School Boys’ and Girls’ Tennis Teams are already a few matches deep this week.
The GHS girls’ tennis team is 2-3.
On their most recent meet, they lost to Los Lunas 6-3.
Number one for the Pirates, Amelia Torres, a Junior, defeated Haley Lane, 6-1, 6-2. Number 2, Kyee Sandoval was defeated by Kendal Russell 6-1, 6-4.
Number 3, Maya Yates, defeated Sienna Cordova 6-3, 6-2.
In doubles play number 1 doubles for the Lady Pirates Maya Yates defeated Sienna Cordova and Presley Lamb, 6-2, 6--1. Number 2 doubles Amelia Torres and Emma Munson defeated Lacie Lakey Payton Lipshultz 6-2,6-4.
Prior to the Los Lunas match they played Moriarty and lost 6-4 and defeated Valencia 8-1.
The GHS boys’ tennis team is 2-2 after defeating Moriarty 6-3 and Valencia 8-1.
