Grants High School’s powerlifting team returned home with heads held high and medals in hand after a stellar showing at the 2025 IBEW/NECA State Powerlifting Championships, sanctioned by the NMAA. Competing against some of the toughest teams in the state, the Pirates proved they were built for the platform — and the podium.

In the 4A Girls division, Grants placed third overall with 21 points, showcasing incredible grit and determination. Their lifts spoke louder than words — a powerful combination of focus, strength, and team spirit.

The boys brought the heat too, battling through a competitive 4A field and representing Grants with power and pride.

“From big lifts to big wins,” read a post from the school’s Facebook page, “our girls and guys brought strength, focus, and heart to the platform.”

With community pride riding high, the Pirates return not only as competitors — but as champions of character, discipline, and sheer determination.
