GRANTS, N.M. - The Lady Hawks are ending their district play with a storybook season, with an impressive 20-4 and 8-0 record to date they will wrap up on Tuesday, February 17 as they host Ramah (10-14, 5-3).
“We are going to maintain the same intensity we have had for every game,” said Jolynn Martinez head coach of the Lady Hawks when she commented about the up coming district game with Ramah. “We’ll come out twice as strong against Ramah because they will be eager to win against our girls.”
Martinez added, “The first time we played them they came out aggressive so we’re looking forward to seeing that again.”
Last week the Lady Hawks played against Hozho Academy and defeated them 51-23. “They put up a good fight at the beginning but once again we were able to handle them,” said Martinez of that game.
High scorers for the Hawks were Christianna Carrillo with 22 points and Jayse Garcia with 17 points.
The Lady Hawks are currently ranked 4th in A girls basketball.
The L-A boys basketball team is 6-17 and 3-5.
