GRANTS, N.M. - A total of 13 boys and girls participated in the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA) state wrestling tournament this past weekend for the GHS Pirates wrestling team.
Antonio DeVargas lost (11-4) by a fall at 2:07 to Jesus Olvera of Deming in the 215-pound weight class to place 5th in 4A for boys wrestling. Paizlyn Turley placed 6th after being defeated by McKenzie Williams of Bloomfield by a 3-2 decision.
