ZUNI, N.M. – Motorists traveling NM 53 through Zuni should prepare for lane closures and possible delays during four days of work in early October.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation announced that traffic impacts are expected Oct. 1 through Oct. 4 between mile markers 11 and 14.
Single-lane closures will affect both eastbound and westbound traffic along the approximately threemile stretch of NM 53.
Motorists should allow additional travel time while passing through the area and be prepared to follow posted signs and traffic-control devices.
NMDOT is also asking drivers to reduce their speed and remain alert while traveling through the affected area.
