VILLAGE OF MILAN, N.M. – On Tuesday, September 28, the Village of Milan Board of Trustees held a special meeting at 1 p.m. Agenda items included (a.) Approval of Agenda, (b). Resolution 2021-026 Authorizing and Approving Submission of a completed application for financial assistance and project approval to the New Mexico Finance Authority, (c.) Resolution 2021-027 Budget adjustment, (d.) Review and accept Capital Asset Listing for the Village of Milan, and (e.) Award Bid for Soccer Field Improvements.

The board improved the agenda as presented. The board then went on to approve Resolution 2021-026, authorizing and approving the submission of a completed application for financial assistance and project approval to the New Mexico Finance Authority. The project referred to in that resolution included a description to “design, renovate, and equip [the] existing fire department for the Village of Milan.” The project will cost around $678,300. The trustees also approved the budget adjustment included in Resolution 2021-027. The board then reviewed and approved the acceptance of the capital asset listing for the Village of Milan.

Finally, the board moved to the award bid for the soccer field improvements project. The bid proposal presentation for the project was presented to the board at a September 8 special meeting, and the board decided to approve a bid from Richardson and Richardson Incorporated, contingent upon the results of negotiations for a best and final offer. Negotiations were successful, and the board approved the award bid from Richardson and Richardson Inc. for the amount of $373,176.03.

That decision concluded the action portion of the Tuesday, September 28 special meeting, and the only other notable announcement from the meeting was that sod was being installed at Kearns Field and looks good so far.
