Scenic Byway Needs Public Input

The Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments (NWNMCOG) is seeking public input on the Corridor Management Plan (CMP) for the Trail of the Ancients Scenic Byway by tabling at three different locations on the weekend of April 13-14, 2024. The CMP is a three-county economic development and transportation plan which will support the ongoing maintenance, protection, and development of different parts of the Trail of the Ancients Scenic Byway corridor. The corridor runs almost 600 miles through San Juan, McKinley, and Cibola counties and Navajo Nation and Pueblo of Zuni in Northwest New Mexico.

The project team will be hosting a table at the following locations:

Saturday, April 13, 10am-2pm – Wings ‘n Wheels, Grants-Milan Municipal Airport Saturday, April 13, 7--9pm – Gallup Arts Crawl, Downtown Gallup Sunday, April 14, 13pm – Animas Valley Mall, Farmington Stop by and provide input on your favorite archeological, natural, cultural, recreational, scenic, and historic attractions along the Trail of the Ancients and what can be improved. The project team needs your local expertise to help update the Corridor Management Plan, which describes how communities will use, enhance, protect, and benefit from the assets and character for their byway corridor.
