MILAN, N.M. - A more than $2.2 million roadway rehabilitation project begins today on NM 605 in Milan, bringing new pavement work to a roughly 13-mile stretch of the highway.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation District Six and contractor Brasier Asphalt, Inc. will place a one-inch overlay on the northbound and southbound lanes of NM 605 between mile markers 0.2 and 13.
Work is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The project is expected to be complete by the end of August, weather permitting.
Drivers should expect minor delays and are urged to slow down, follow posted signs and traffic control devices, and watch for construction workers and equipment.
NMDOT said the work is part of its effort to improve the safety and condition of New Mexico’s transportation system.
