Dear editor, To start with, Cody at Verizon, who was patient and kind to a muddled 80year-old client, an unbelievably pleasant trip to the emergency room at Cibola General Hospital, both making me remember all the great things about living here.
My neighbor, Michelle, who calls me when I have left the garage door open and her husband, who rolls my garage can back on a snowy day; Our little group of friends who meet for coffee at 1912 Market; My old friend, Demetrio, who has answered hundreds of calls from me while working and now while I am retired. Jake, who can fix a bent fender so that even my son doesn't notice; the pleasant greeting you get from Georgia at City Hall; Ian at Cibola Arts, always eager to receive my art attempts; Heather, the enthusiastic president of the Chamber, promoting businesses; City Council and County Commissioners courteously listening to our concerns; Kate, County Manager, who has guided our county out of debt; the wonderful checkers who worked at Smiths through our covid scare; the restaurants who have managed to stay open for us while finding it difficult to find help; the city water department who answers our call when water is flowing through our office building; and finally the newspaper who allows me and others to express our mixed opinions.
There are many more I know I have missed but just know I am thankful for this little town.
Thank you, Jonnie Head
