On Saturday, July 17, 2021, our beloved father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, Carlett Daniels, better known as Dan, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 75. Dan was born on September 19, 1945, in Washington D. C., to William Daniels and Mittie Francis McNair. He was the third of five children.

Dan grew up in Washington D. C. and attended Eastern High School, Chamberlain Vocational High School, and Washington Technical Institute College. He was active in sports. In 1972, he moved to San Francisco, California, where he found employment working for the City and County of San Francisco; throughout his time at City Hall, he worked in multiple classifications and retired after 35 years. He was baptized on May 7, 1995. His charities were Boystown, NAACP, and Southern Poverty Law Center.

Dan was a social butterfly with a unique personality that affected all he met; everywhere he went, people knew who he was. He believed in fairness in all things and always had a copy of the U. S. Constitution. His passions included basketball, tennis, dancing, and dressing to look his very best. In the words of our dearly departed dad, “Don’t grieve for me, for I am free I lived the life I was dealt. I love all my children, family, and friends. Yes, I wept, I cry no more, so dry your eyes, I had fun while I was alive, I am at peace. That’s life! May my spirit be with you always!! Are you ready for me, sweet Jesus; psalm 23?”

He is preceded in death by his father: William Daniels; mother: Mittie Francis McNair; sisters: Doretha (Mamie) McCullough, Camille Hancock, previous wives, Barbara Campbell, and Jennie Daniels.

He is survived by brother: Travis Melvin Daniels of Temple Hills, MD; and sister: Sharon M.
