Dear Editor;

We honor and remember the 2,403 Americans who lost their lives during a surprise Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 1941. On this day, 79 years ago, the United States lost 2,008 sailors, 218 soldiers and airmen, 109 marines and 68 civilians. We must pay tribute to those service members who fought back with courage and great resolve on this "date which will live in infamy.” We cherish the memory of these brave Americans who were killed. They helped establish the Greatest Generation at a time when Democracy was threatened and proudly defended. We must always remember our military past and present and the men and women who protect our freedoms and defend our great nation each day.
