Aid to Ukraine

Body

We are sending weapons to Ukraine. Because this outflow from our arsenal stockpile is depleted, the US funds various factories across rural America to restore and upgrade it. These factories make weapon parts that are assembled in other factories, and all of them are expanding production, hiring workers, and thus significantly contributing to rural economies. See kyivpost. com/video/22373 “How US aid to Ukraine is Bolstering American Industry”. According to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (csis.org), about 55% to 65% of US aid to Ukraine has gone to direct military hardware. European countries and the UK are also supporting Ukraine – taken together, their contributions equal if not exceed those of the US. We would do well to remember these facts when ideas about isolationism and worries about US debt are promoted During WWII, the same thing happened, and it ended the Great Depression. Called the War Effort, American resources (auto factories, for instance). were converted to produce weaponry and mobility. War is never good in general, but in the course of history wars have stimulated medical advances, global trade, local economies, and increased our awareness and understanding of foreign cultures.

Over and above all this, however, is the threat to the free world of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. It is equal to the Nazi threat of WWII and should be taken as seriously.
