Holidays are around the corner. So many of us will be traveling. I would like to put in a word for Amtrak. Here are five points of information that you may find useful.
• You can call Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL, 24-7
• The train doesn’t stop in Grants, if going East or West, you must get on in Gallup
• Julie, Amtrak automated agent will give you fare information, arrival and departure for your train
• There is one train that comes through Grants daily, it’s the Southwest Chief. The westbound train is train #3, the eastbound is train #4.
• Julie will tell you about the various accommodations about the train. She will quote you the price of your intended destination.
My late wife Sharon and I have traveled thousands of miles on Amtrak, the crew has always been outstanding. As Johnny Cash would say, I look forward to one more ride.
