Cleaning for the Love of Cibola

Dear editor,

You would have to be blind not to see dozens of bags of trash along Old McBride Road and Lobo Canyon Road last week. The New Mexico Department of Transportation, District 6, was out in big numbers picking up trash along both of these roads. The City of Grants is very grateful for all the hard work that was done by NMDOT, District 6! They have also been keeping the exits and entrances to our City and Village clean! We thank you so much!

We had a County Cleanup in Cubero this past week and truck after truck came through to fill up our trash roll-offs! I love coming to this Land Grant Community and having an opportunity to work alongside hardworking New Mexicans that care about their community! As you drive up to this clean community you can't help to see the magnificent Picacho Mountain behind the Elementary School! Thank you to everyone that participated and worked hard last Saturday! Thank you, Cibola County Commissioner Christine Lowery, for showing up and helping unload the vehicles!

This coming Saturday we will have a cleanup in the Village of Milan! My daughter Rachel is the Code Enforcement Officer in Milan and has invited me to help with the cleanup! I truly believe that Great things are coming to our County and communities! We all benefit economically by keeping our communities clean!

Robert S. Windhorst Code Enforcement Officer, City of Grants

Helpful Advice for Cibola

Dear editor,

Going to write this letter ahead of time to thank everyone I spoke with while going door to door for my campaign. I have hope we can pull through even with gas prices going to $5 a gallon, and all the other issues we are facing. I have said many times in the past if you have a good Democrat then vote for them, if not vote them out. We need terms limits on Democrats, and Republican especially in Congress and in Santa Fe. Cibola County has a Code Red free alert system you can sign up for at Welcome to Cibola County, New Mexico (cibolacountynm.com) near the bottom of the web page, living near the forest it could be of great help in the event of a fire or other emergency. This last school shooting in Texas had such a system but sadly the door the teach opened did not lock back, Security app sheds more light on emergency response in Uvalde school shooting (msn.com). Some of these new systems can lock the doors automatically, and notify the police but sadly many schools have said in the past it cost too much to install such systems APS will not receive state funds from School Security Program | KRQE News 13. We had no trouble after 911 fixing the cockpit doors on all the plans and creating the TSA after losing 2,977 people Casualties of the September 11 attacks - Wikipedia. Guess most Democrats find it easier to blame a certain type of gun instead of, politicians, school administrators, law enforcement, and social media?
