Dear editor, What a wonderful 4th of July Celebration this year! Rodeo, barbeques, lots of events in our City Parks, and a wonderful 4th of July Parade! Not to mention the spectacular fireworks display going on at the golf course that evening! Big turnouts for every event made this holiday a most memorable one!

I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation for all the volunteers that walked the Parade route collecting trash! Commissioner Christine Lowery volunteered and I walked the entire Parade route! We have been doing this for the past eight Parades on the 4th and it always makes a difference! A big thank you to Kory and Tannin Cash from Delta Tires for donating the tee shirts we all wore! Thank you, Diamond G for your continual support for the City's Cleanup endeavors!

A big thank you to all the residents and guests that picked up their areas and placed the trash in our bags and trash cans! The kids were amazing with their contribution to this cleanup! Our City employees worked very hard on their day off to make sure road signs were properly placed for the safety of everyone and that the parks stayed clean during these events. We thank each of them! Thank you Mainstreet and the Chamber of Commerce! And thank you to all law enforcement and emergency service people that were present to assist and protect!

Taking Pride in our communities and keeping them clean and safe, invites new business and opportunities for everyone. I am so grateful to be an American! This is the greatest nation on earth. We have never been a perfect country, but we have freedoms that are denied to the citizens of other countries. These freedoms were fought and died for by so many men and women.
