Letters to the Editor . . .

Dear Editor Every person ages differently, both physically and cognitively. My mother began showing cognitive decline in her early sixties. My late wife’s uncle will celebrate his 100th birthday in May. Yet, his memory and speech pattern is that of one in his 70’s.

Our conundrum: How do we resolve one’s multiple and long term “willful” violations of our Nation’s secrecy laws? The simple answer is, investigate. And, if sufficiently compelling, the case is recommended for judicial prosecution.

Herein lies Mr. Hur’s conundrum: his investigation is compelling for trial and conviction. But, during his investigation Mr. Hur also found compelling evidence that suggested a negative mental health outcome if President Biden were to proceed to trial. Therefore, Mr. Hur recommended against proceeding to a trial that some could claim to be (in my words) “Elder Abuse”.

Now we as a nation are faced with making a decision that is “damned if we do”, and “damned if we don’t”.

Pray for our country! Raymond C. Jenkins.
