Grants, NM - Cibola Communities Economic Development Foundation held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony and Open House on Thursday, October 26th to celebrate the generous donation from TBK Bank – 1015 E. Roosevelt Avenue!

In 2022, TBK Bank donated the former Roosevelt Branch Bank building to Cibola Communities Economic Development Foundation. Sr. Vice President of TBK Bank at the time Clemente Sanchez was instrumental in making the donation possible. TBK Bank’s generosity has provided a permanent home for the economic development organization, CCEDF.

Last year on Halloween weekend, CCEDF moved from its former location at 210 E. Santa Fe Avenue into its new and permanent location at 1015 E. Roosevelt Avenue. Volunteers moved our belongings and furnishings into the building in one day with volunteers ready to lend a hand. Many thanks to the moving crew: Roger & Evelyn Seigmann, Dwayne Toivanen, William Yarborough, Gerrie Ortiz, Michelle & Aurelius Meese and Adelaida Yarborough; this would not have been possible without you.

Over the past year, CCEDF has been remodeling and renovating while occupying the building. Gerrie Ortiz has led the renovation effort and been providing oversight to all improvements inside the building. Other recent improvements include a new roof, property landscaping and maintenance, inside painting, conversion to LED lighting fixtures inside and out, and upgraded bathroom and kitchen fixtures.

Michael Brown and Les Gaines gave an update on the Cibola Outdoors initiative, Anjelica Lancer and Don Bartlett provide an update from NM Workforce Connections and Keegan M. Chavez with NMEDD was introduced as the new Region 1 representative.

The Open House was well attended last Thursday evening with more than 50 people including board members, community leaders, business owners and guests. Door prizes were given and light hors de oeuvres and refreshments were served. Many thanks to our door prize donors: JoAnne Martinez-Homestake Mining Company, Dr. Marlene Chavez-Toivanen- NMSU Grants, Pete Perez-Custom Etching & Gifts, Gerrie Ortiz-CCEDF, Michelle Meese-CCEDF, and Eileen Yarborough,
