Notice New Lockbox at Roberta’s Place

We have been tirelessly working to combat the mess and vandalism outside The Roberta’s Place Thrift Store. We purchased a new box that WORKS! We need the communities help to place ALL items inside the box. Please do not leave bags or boxes outside. If the items do not fit and it is after business hours, you can call the 24/7 shelter line 505-2877724 for an alternate drop off location. We appreciate all donations! Donations can always be dropped off inside the store Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm.

Free Music Concerts

Here are the Friday dates for the music lessons featuring the New York Philharmonic led by Leonard Bernstein: September 8, 15, 22, and 29. Time is 4-5 p.m. Venue is Double Six Art Gallery on Route 66 / 1001 W. Santa Fe Ave.

Free Classical Music

Program titles for the classical music concerts are: Sept. 8 – “What is a Concerto?” Sept. 15 – “Who is Gustav Mahler?” Sept. 22 – “Folk Music in the Concert Hall” Sept. 29 – “What is Impressionism?” Remember, time is 4-5 p.m. and place is the Double Six Art Gallery on Route 66 / 1001 W. September 8 Free Film and Talk for 'Who Does She Think She Is?” There will be a screening of the documentary film, Who Does She Think She Is? and a talk about the documentary film and the issues it raises for women and women artists with Maye Torres, a Taos artist featured in the film. September 9 Free Movie “Little Big Man” Dustin Hofman said, “I was a kid who was always too short, wore braces and ad one of the worse cases of acne in CA.” He starred in many films, and this Saturday, the 9th, he stars in “Little Big Man” at 11 a.m. in the Double Six Art Gallery on Route 66 / 1001 W. Santa Fe Ave. The arts are for everyone.

Free Museum Presentation History is who we are-and why we are the way we are. To that end Cibola County History Museum will hear more Grants history presented by Carmen Gutierrez on the history of our landmark Diamond G and the Breece Lumber Company. Program will start at 2PM, 525 West High St, no admission fee, refreshments included. Everyone welcome. If you have not been to the museum, you will be amazed at the exhibits and information. Mark your calendars for September 9.

November 4 Free Movie – “The Agony and the Ecstasy” The awe-inspiring paintings on the Sistine Chapel in Rome, consumed painter Michelangelo Buonarroti for 40+ years! The movie, “The Agony and the Ecstasy” is based on bits of the Stone novel. This meticulous production will be shown at the Double Six Art Gallery, Saturday, November 4 beginning at 11 a.m. The arts are for EVERYONE!

The Northwest New Mexico Solid Waste Authority accepts Number 1 and 2 plastic, paper, and cardboard.
