Flock Equipment Removal Nearing Completion in Grants

GRANTS, N.M. – Removal of the City of Grants’ former Flock Safety equipment is nearing completion, according to Grants Police Chief Maxine Monte.

Monte told the Cibola Citizen on Sept. 22 that three of the four license plate readers had been removed and that all five cameras were gone.

The removal follows the City’s decision earlier this month to discontinue its service agreement with Flock Safety. Monte previously said Flock had scheduled removal of the equipment for the week of Sept. 14.

City of Grants administrators announced the decision after hearing public comment at their regular meeting in August that residents did not want the tech in their community.
