Poetry Synergy Fest September 24 at 7p.m.

FreeMovie–“TeachersPet” Newspaper correspondents take an oath to report the truth whether or not the readers believe them. Newspaper writing is a feature in the movie “Teacher’s Pet”. Doris Day and Clark Gable head the cast. The movie will be shown at the Double Six Art Gallery, Saturday September 24 at 2 p.m. Location is on Route 66/ 1001 W. Santa Fe Avenue. National Public Lands Day Join us in a project to improve the El Malpais Ranger Station Nature Trail! Volunteers will work on installing benches along the trail as well as general trail beautification. Tools, water, and snacks will be provided. Each volunteer will also receive National Public Lands Day swag and a fee-free coupon to use at a participating federal recreation or visitor site! October 1 Free Movie – The Majestic Life of Elizabeth II King Louis XIV of France ruled for 72 years, 16431715. Queen Elizabeth II of England rules for 70 years, 1952-2022. With respect to Great Britain and her long-lived majesty, the Double Six Art Gallery will show the movie “The Majestic Life of Elizabeth II” on Saturday October 1 at 2 p.m. Gallery location is Route 66 / 1001 W. October 4 Grants/Cibola County Schools Free Developmental Screening

If you suspect your child has learning concerns or issues, including giftedness, and you would like to have your child’s skills screened, please call Desiraye Lopez 285-2643 to make an appointment. The screenings will be conducted on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the Special Education Complex 402 North 2nd Street from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Due to COVID 19, no walkins at this time, please make an appointment. All screenings are free. Parents will be informed of screening results at the conclusion of the screening session. The screening will be conducted by a team of G/CCS employees. Ages 3-21 years old can participate.

October 6 Coffee With the Managers Come meet the City of Grants, Village of Milan, and Cibola County managers for coffee. This is a forum where community members can hear updates from the managers and get their questions answered directly from the managers. Come to the Coyote Del Malpais Golf Course at 2001 George Hanosh Boulevard in Grants, N.M. at 8 a.m.
