N.M. Mining Museum board members, and both former local uranium miners, Roger Siegmann (L) and Terry Fletcher pause after securing the float for their annual Miners Honorary Town Tour. With an honorary escort from the Cibola County Sheriff’s Office, they drove west on Santa Fe Avenue to Elkins Road, then west to SR 605 north.

After a tip of the hard hat remembering their mining friends, they turned east through Milan and into Grants, then left on Nimitz, turned past to the old “Town and Country” bar (a favorite watering hole, so to speak) and then to the Grants Memorial Park, for a prayer for our local miners as well as our state and national miners.
