George Mendoza from Lincoln County was honored at the 2023 Inspector of the Year at the Joint Stockmen’s Convention that was held in December. President Bronson Corn said “George Mendoza is extremely devoted to his profession and enjoys what he does. He had several years of ranching experience before working for the State of New Mexico so he not only takes his profession seriously but also has firsthand knowledge of what he is doing everyday with integrity to match.” Mendoza’s integrity is backed up by his knowledge and adherence to the laws of New Mexico Livestock Board. He is firm and strict but also fair and honest. He is accommodating and works with producers in a timely manner for inspections.

Mendoza is a graduate of both New Mexico Military Institute and New Mexico State University, with degrees in Ranch Management and Large Animal Science. His life experience and education give him the ability to perform his job at a high level, seeing the “big picture” that others may miss.
