GRANTS, N.M, - Locals have been partnering with Mt. Taylor Coffee Company for months for an event called Cars and Coffee. With the weather starting to warm up, it’s about time for the Cars and Coffee season to begin again.
This time, however, it is happening at a new location, since Mt. Taylor Coffee Company moved locations to the 1912 Market on 66 (Santa Fe Ave.) in January of this year. The first Cars and Coffee of 2022 took place on Saturday, March 12, at 10 a.m. The person in charge of the event, Kevin Colbern, says he plans on holding a Cars and Coffee on the second Saturday of each month, March through October. According to Colbern, there will be door prize drawings for those who attend. The parking situation at the new location is “no longer ideal,” said Colbern, but next-door business owner Kenneth Brown agreed to help out by allowing parking for the event in his lots at Kenneth Brown Photography. The first Cars and Coffee served as a trial run for the new location, and Colbern cautioned attendees to pay careful attention to themselves and their kids if crossing the road were necessary. As for the future, Colbern said he plans on “rotating locations of each following meet to help out other local businesses,” he wrote on social media. Social media posts and messages will be sent out prior to each Cars and Coffee with details on upcoming meets.
