Across Cibola County this weekend, hearts are heavy with remembrance and pride. At Fire and Ice Park, rows of simple white crosses were staked in the ground, each one a silent tribute to the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country.
On Friday, local law enforcement officers gathered quietly, lowering their heads in memory of fallen colleagues who once stood among them in uniform. Their service, and their sacrifice, are not forgotten.
For too many families in Cibola County, Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom.
