A second caller later called in to dispatch and advised that her sister’s ex-boyfriend had arrived and had a firearm with him. She also said that he was peeling out in the driveway and caused a disturbance and left in a red truck.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a red truck in front of village hall. They had handcuffed the Hernandez who was screaming and not fully cooperating with officers. The officers cleared the truck and there was a black shotgun on the passenger side of the front seat. Hernandez was placed in handcuffs and in the back of a squad and the shotgun was removed for safekeeping and placed in the back of a squad’s trunk.
From speaking with witnesses’ officers found out that Hernandez showed up at the caller’s apartment and was carrying the shotgun. He was yelling and eventually busted out two windows on the caller’s vehicle. Officers then went down the street and spoke with two individuals who called as well at 1008 Uranium Ave. They were advised that Hernandez was their sister’s ex-boyfriend. Hernandez arrived once and was yelling and screaming before proceeding to peel out of the driveway. Hernandez then proceeded to return five to ten minutes later and started yelling and pounding on a trailer on the side of the driveway that the ex-girlfriend would stay at sometimes. The witness then said that Hernandez came near their trailer and was yelling, he then walked to the passenger side of his truck and grabbed a shotgun and began loading it. The witness then said he saw Hernandez through a side window, the suspect did not point the gun at him, but the witness said he felt like Hernandez was going to shoot at the trailer. The witness said he felt like his life was in danger and he thought that the three other people inside of the trailer could be harmed as well. The witness then said that Hernandez must have heard the police sirens because he proceeded to back out of the driveway and left the scene.
