Bringing Contraband into Places of Imprisonment

Village of Milan, NM – On the above date, the Village of Milan Police Department officers were informed by investigators at Core Civic of a detention officer bringing narcotics into the prison. Investigators advised that an investigation was started months ago after information was brought to their attention of potential contraband being brought into the facility. Through follow-up investigation it was discover that now former detention officer Jayna Roper had in fact brought suspected narcotics into the facility. The Milan Police Department conducted an interview with Jayna Roper and following the interview she was placed under arrest a charged with bringing contraband into places of imprisonment. She was booked into the facility that she used to be employed at.
