GRANTS, NM – Beginning Monday May 15, 2023, Mount Taylor Ranger District fuelwood permits can be purchased in person at the Mount Taylor District Office at 1800 Lobo Canyon Road in Grants, NM, or by telephone at 505-287-8833. The permits may also be purchased at the Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands Supervisors Office at 2113 Osuna Rd. NE in Albuquerque, NM.
Fuelwood permits at Mount Taylor District Office, both in person and by telephone, will be sold Mondays thru Fridays from 8:30 am to 12 noon and from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm only.
The permits are being offered at a cost of $2 per cord with a minimum purchase of $20. If you are interested in purchasing a fuelwood permit by telephone, please be prepared to pay with credit or with debit card. The permit, along with a map of the collection areas, will be mailed to you within 1-3 business days. All cash, personal check or money order sales will be accepted in person only.
