Who Doesn’t Love Cookies?

GRANTS, NM – The weather cooperated and gave us a sunny, but chilly day, perfect cookie weather. Local families and shoppers from along Santa Fe Avenue stopped by the Cibola Arts Council for a break to enjoy hot cocoa, and cookies at this year’s Cookie Crawl.

Something for every shopper, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, sugar, and sugar-free cookies were the flavors served up to grateful visitors.

“This is the second time we’ve come,” remarked Mary James a registered nurse at Grants High School who, along with Director Lena Mercer, accompanied a busload of 20 adults and young people from Baptist Church. “It’s just all the talent in the area is amazing, the paintings and the cookies, the hot chocolate, and all that.”

Tables with snackers and art lovers filled the main room, while in the next room, vendors sold hand-made baskets, and tee-shirts made by the Grants High School security guard in her spare time.

The event was a welcome and cozy beginning to the winter season just around the

corner.
